Overview
The aim of this session is to equip experienced nursing staff with the confidence and tools needed to provide preceptorship leadership within your organisation.
If you join the preceptorship lead workshop, you will also be invited to communities of practice sessions in early 2026.
What to expect?
This is an interactive workshop where you will engage in helpful discussions and activities exploring how to measure the impact of the preceptorship programme in your organisation.
You will be given access to helpful resources enabling you to carry out the evaluation process and develop a preceptorship policy for your organisation.
You will be able to consider what ongoing support you will need to enable you to carry out the preceptorship lead role moving forward.
You will receive a certificate of attendance.
By the end of the session attendees will be able to:
- Define the components that contribute to a high quality preceptorship programme
- Review how to implement a preceptorship policy and champion preceptorship in your organisation
- Analyse the importance of evaluation in reviewing the impact of preceptorship programmes
- Link to community of practice for preceptorship leads offered by ΢΢²ÝÊÓÆµ
By attending this session, you will be able to connect with others and receive ongoing information and preceptorship guidance and opportunities.
Who should attend?
Nursing staff with more than 12 months' experience in social care nursing who have a passion for preceptorship.
You will be a preceptorship champion, providing support to preceptors and preceptees and playing a vital role in networking with other preceptorship leads to embed the principles of preceptorship within your area.
Those currently acting as a preceptorship lead or similar are also welcome to attend.
Note: Those wishing to undertake the preceptorship lead role are advised to attend the preceptor readiness workshop also.
