The Level 5 Award in Understanding Digital Leadership in Adult Social Care supports managers, leaders and senior practitioners to develop the knowledge and confidence needed to lead digital transformation within adult social care services.
As technology and data become increasingly important in the delivery of high-quality care, leaders need the skills to make informed decisions about digital solutions, support workforce development and create a culture of continuous improvement. This qualification has been designed to help adult social care leaders understand how technology can improve care outcomes, enhance service delivery and support people to live more independently.
The qualification is aimed at those working in senior roles within adult social care, including registered managers, deputy managers, operational managers, senior practitioners and others who are responsible for leading teams, services or organisational change.
Learners will develop knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
- the use of technology and data in adult social care
- implementing technology within care services
- leading change, learning and continuous improvement through digital innovation
- data protection, governance and cybersecurity
- supporting workforce digital skills and confidence
- evaluating the impact of technology on care quality and outcomes
- engaging stakeholders in digital transformation and service improvement.
The qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence and provides learners with the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world adult social care settings.
Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS)
Eligible adult social care employers in England may be able to claim funding towards the costs of eligible training and qualifications through the Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS). Funding eligibility, rates and requirements are subject to government guidance and may change over time.
