We want as many people as possible to be able to use The Training Hub, our online learning platform for the adult social care sector.

This statement covers The Training Hub at thetraininghub.skillsforcare.org.uk. For the main ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ website, see our main accessibility statement.

Using The Training Hub, you should be able to:

  • access the platform on a range of mobile, tablet and desktop devices
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the platform interface using just a keyboard
  • navigate the platform using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the platform interface using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

Advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability can be found at .

How accessible The Training Hub is

The Training Hub is built on the Brightspace learning management system by D2L. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance across the platform and its course content, but we know some parts are not yet fully accessible:

  • some course content, including PDF materials, may not be fully accessible to screen reader software
  • some course videos may not have accurate closed captions or transcripts
  • some third-party course content (such as SCORM modules) may have accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control

What to do if you can’t access parts of The Training Hub

If you experience any accessibility problems or need course content in an alternative format, contact us:

Email: thetraininghub@skillsforcare.org.uk

Please tell us:

  • the web address (URL) of the content you need help with
  • your name and email address
  • the format you need - for example, a Word document, accessible PDF, easy read or audio recording

We’ll consider your request and get back to you within 10 working days.

Technical information about The Training Hub’s accessibility

΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ Solutions Limited is committed to making The Training Hub accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. The Training Hub is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some course PDF materials are not fully tagged, meaning headings, reading order and image alternatives may be missing. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.1.1 Non-text Content, 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.2 Page Titled. We are reviewing and remediating PDF course materials on a rolling basis.
  • Some course videos do not have accurate closed captions or a text transcript. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded). We are working to ensure all new video content is captioned and to remediate existing content.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

  • Some third-party SCORM and xAPI course content is supplied by external providers. Where this content has accessibility limitations, we will work with providers to improve it, but some content may fall outside our direct control.

How we tested The Training Hub

We test the platform interface and course content using a range of assistive technologies, including screen readers (JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver), speech recognition software and keyboard-only navigation, across a range of browsers and devices.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are committed to improving the accessibility of The Training Hub and its course content on an ongoing basis. Our current work includes:

  • reviewing and remediating PDF course materials to ensure they are properly tagged and structured
  • ensuring all new video content is published with accurate closed captions
  • working with third-party content providers to improve the accessibility of SCORM and xAPI modules
  • carrying out regular testing of the platform interface against WCAG 2.2 Level AA
